The voice of the cello never lies: it is able to make audiences feel the heart quivering and the murmur of the mystery. Both murmurs and mystery have been felt by the audience at the Concert held on Sunday 13th 2009 by the Duo Angelo and Tiziano Baranello (cello and piano), organized by the Cultural Club ‘Amici della MUSICA’ in Pignataro Maggiore (Caserta - Italy) www.pignataromusica.it The two musicians made the listeners fly and throb, bringing them into an imaginary journey through the Space (Europe,USA, Argentina) and Time (late 1990s)
The two instruments when playing the Suite for cello and jazz piano trio, written in 1980 by Claude Bolling have been able to arouse a huge series of emotions and feelings, thanks to its energetic vitality, sweet romantic loveliness, with continuous trills, quivers, anticipations and repeats, all enriched by a perfect mutual understanding, that just a solid duo can reach. The audience has been enchained in a magical spell full of cultural connotations with USA swing flavours, the European baroque elegance, the jazz loneliness, the western modern frenzy. When the Suite was over a long and passionate applause had filled the Concert Hall and many of the listeners were weeping for joy and pleasure
In the second part of the program the to players have performed four particular tangos, which have underlined four different ways of conceiving tango. Every tango marked vitality and love for life, love for the others, a special love which brought souls and spirit beyond the audience’s bodies. The tango One by Marianito Mores has proved to be an actual love letter, which etched true, passionate love capable to induce listeners to climb the stairs towards the sky.
Powerful has Le Grand Tango by Astor Piazzolla, been. It was performed in 1989 by Rostropovich when Berlin Wall was broken down. It has been felt as a Classical Music Tale of the Eastern Germans conquering their freedom.
Eventuallu has ben played the tango Por una cabeza by Carlos Claudel, whose voice has been declared UNESCO Heritage.
The Duo Baranello fingers have been able to make all the participants fall in love with music and tangos, with passion, and invited them to live honestly all the feelings and emotions and to live by aiming at God.
